Director of IT

The Director, Information Technology will lead the planning, implementation, and continuous enhancement of IT infrastructure, processes, and policies that enable manufacturing operations and broader business needs. This role requires a deep understanding of how IT supports operational efficiency, automation, and transformation. The Director will also represent IT in system migration processes, ensuring smooth integration of new systems into the organization. While this is a hands-on role, success will depend on the ability to influence, collaborate, and manage vendors and stakeholders effectively.
Key Responsibilities- Develop a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing operations and define the role of IT in supporting and optimizing factory processes.
- Review and assess existing IT infrastructure and processes, identifying gaps and areas for improvement.
- Organize meetings with key departments to gather IT requirements and align technology initiatives with business objectives.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for automation, intelligence, and process optimization to drive operational excellence.
- Engage with external vendors to evaluate, plan, and implement technology initiatives and solutions.
- Kickstart and oversee vendor engagements to ensure timely execution and alignment with business needs.
- Plan and revise IT infrastructure and processes to ensure suitability, scalability, and security in a manufacturing environment.
- Actively participate in system migration projects, including calls, workshops, and reviews, to ensure smooth transitions and alignment of processes.
- Review and update existing IT policies to meet compliance, operational, and security requirements.
- Conduct workshops and communication sessions to promote IT awareness and facilitate adoption across the business.
- Lead the implementation of IT infrastructure, processes, and policies, ensuring business continuity and minimal disruption.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of IT infrastructure, processes, and policies, recommending improvements as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline
- 10+ years of progressive IT experience, with at least 5 years in a senior capacity.
- Prior experience in manufacturing or industrial environments is highly advantageous.
- Proven experience in IT system migration, process redesign, and technology implementation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage vendors, negotiate contracts, and drive outcomes.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while providing leadership through influence and expertise.
