Job Description
This role will provide communications and events support to the Asia Centre for Health Security. Working under the direction of the Director and Head of Operations, ACHS, the Communications Manager will be part of the team to support the core duties of the centre.

The incumbent will be involved in increasing the centre's visibility and profile through website management, creation of videos/podcasts, maintenance of social media accounts, and publicity of education initiatives. They will also be responsible for providing organisational and operational support in the development and execution of events, including public lectures, seminars, webinars, short courses, workshops, symposiums, policy roundtable discussions, and fellowships.

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Increase visibility and profile of the centre by crafting and designing strategic communications, including collateral design and marketing content, collation of reports/case studies, creation of videos/podcasts, and graphics.
  2. Maintain the centre's social media accounts and calendar, and post required content in line with the centre's objectives.
  3. Support the maintenance of the ACHS website.
  4. Conceptualize, design, purchase, and manage ACHS assets and collateral.
  5. Support the organisation and strategic planning of ACHS events and initiatives such as seminars/webinars, conferences, and leadership programmes.
  6. Assist in the planning and execution of virtual and in-person events, focusing on publicity, registration, and post-event reports and evaluations.
  7. Provide administrative and logistic event support, including developing event-specific organisational tools such as critical paths, timelines, contact lists, and deliverables schedules.
  8. Liaise with sales and marketing staff, crew and volunteers, VIP speakers, and suppliers in relation to each event.
  9. Work with senior leadership and faculty members to build, cultivate, and steward corporate, foundation, and government agency relationships.
  10. Track deliverables, KPI reporting, and assets for the centre.
  11. Perform secretariat responsibilities for regular team meetings.
  12. Complete any other work assigned by the Centre Director or Head of Operations.

Qualifications

  1. A degree from a recognised institution.
  2. At least five years of experience working in communications, events, or healthcare setting education and training office.
  3. A self-starter and energetic person with the ability to gracefully manage deadlines, priorities, and multiple projects, with exceptional attention to detail.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  5. Strong analytic, strategic thinking, and planning skills.
  6. Able to work independently, adept at problem-solving, and ability to take initiative and manage assignments from conceptualisation to completion, especially when managing multiple projects with conflicting time frames.
  7. Ability and willingness to work long hours or over weekends leading up to events, as appropriate and required.
  8. Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Design software skills in video editing and Adobe would be an advantage.
  9. Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, and ability to interact effectively with all levels of associates, including senior leadership, with tact and appropriate gravitas.
  10. Strong track record of program coordination, including budget monitoring and project management.
