Senior Specialist Estimating (Mechanical)

2 year contract role

Salary package: Up to $6, month yearly bonus + project completion bonus

Responsibilities:

  • Assess tender documents and proposals for project requirements.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and scope of works for accurate estimating.
  • Prepare precise take-offs and quantity breakdowns.
  • Provide clarifications during tender/RFP stages.
  • Maintain and document bid project information.
  • Benchmark rates against industry standards; validate BOM using first principles.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Provide costing data for tender documentation.
  • Compile and check tender bids for completeness.
  • Report to managers within the estimating team.
  • Coordinate with other estimators and engineers.
  • Mentor junior team members.
  • Maintain pricing databases and support team in estimating/tendering.
  • Collaborate across engineering, procurement, and commercial teams to resolve scope issues.
  • Adhere to company policies and guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 3–5 years of mechanical cost estimating experience.
  • Competitive bid experience preferred.
  • Strong technical understanding.
