Senior Backend Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services using C#, .NET Core in microservices/serverless architectures.
  • Lead API development—design and implement RESTful APIs/GraphQL with clear documentation and versioning strategies.
  • Architect data-intensive systems—ensure data quality, security, and performance in cloud-native environments.
  • Optimize systems end-to-end—apply data structures, algorithms, and design patterns to solve complex scalability challenges.
  • Mentor engineers through code reviews, architectural discussions, and best practices (e.g., lean code, SOLID).
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Owners, Mobile Engineers, UIUX, and QA to deliver high-impact features.
  • Secure systems—implement authentication/authorization (OAuth, JWT) and enforce security best practices.
  • Own cloud infrastructure—deploy and manage services on AWS using serverless frameworks, containers (Docker/ECS), and IaC (Terraform).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of backend development experience.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to break down complex problems and devise innovative solutions.
  • Experience articulating technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Experience in Agile software development methodologies, such as Scrum and Kanban.
  • Relevant cloud computing certifications.
  • Good command of English and Mandarin to liaise with Mandarin-speaking partners and stakeholders.
