Cloudera CDP Migration Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Cloudera CDP Migration Specialist to lead the end-to-end migration of enterprise data platforms from Cloudera CDH/HDP to Cloudera Data Platform (CDP). The role requires deep technical expertise in cluster upgrades, data migration, security configuration, and performance optimization within hybrid or cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute CDH/HDP to CDP migration with minimal downtime and data loss.

  • Reconfigure HDFS, Hive, Spark, Impala, and Kafka components during migration.

  • Migrate and validate Ranger/Sentry policies, Kerberos configurations, and security controls.

  • Integrate CDP with cloud services (AWS EMR, S3, IAM, VPC) for hybrid deployments.

  • Conduct performance tuning, validation testing, and post-migration support.

  • Automate migration workflows using Python, Shell scripting, and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git).

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience in Cloudera CDP/CDH/HDP administration and upgrade processes.

  • Strong knowledge of Hadoop ecosystem, Kerberos, Ranger, and data replication tools.

  • Familiarity with AWS/Azure/GCP cloud integration.

  • Proficiency in Linux administration, automation, and troubleshooting.

Certifications Required:

  • Cloudera Essentials for CDP

  • AWS Fundamentals for CDP Public Cloud (Cloudera)
