JOB SUMMARY
- Manage daily patients' discharges and preparations of their bills including weekends and public holidays (on rotational basis).
- Handle submission of Medisave / Medishield Life claims including those under the Private Medical Insurance claims through the MediClaim system.
- Process patients' refunds through cheques and credit cards in a timely manner.
- Ensure that patients' financial matters are handled in an efficient manner.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Enter doctors' professional fees indicated in the Letter of Certification (LC) into patients' bills accurately, including the collections instructions stated during discharge.
- Follow-up with the doctors, clinics, wards appropriately if information in the LCs are not stated or other information is not clear, etc
- Prior to each claim submissions, check to ensure information in the Medical Claim Authorization Form (MCAF) is duly completed i.e. duly signed both by the patient and the account holder (if latter is required); relationship details is explicitly checked, including the name/NRIC of the account holder.
- During claims submission through the MediClaim system, ensure all mandatory fields are entered and that bill size information tally to that of the bill size in HIS.
- Attend to email and phone enquiries from patients, doctors, clinics, wards ensuring enquiries are managed in a timely manner and appropriately with proper closure. Response to such enquires must be made with 3 working days, otherwise a holding statement must be sent.
- Sort patients' bills including filing and retrieval of documents including packing of bills into boxes for transfer to warehouse.
SECONDARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in system implementation and upgrades, including redesign of workflows and processes based on best practices and automation.
- Undertake any other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or management.
REQUIREMENTS
- At least a polytechnic diploma holder
- Ideally 1-2 years of experience in healthcare settings, with some insurance knowledge.
- Good team player with excellent interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and multitasking skills
