FGE is an international energy market intelligence provider specializing in providing world-class research and analysis of both regular and complex aspects of the Oil, Gas, NGLs and new markets. A vacancy has arisen in the Singapore office for a senior oil market analyst working within our oil team.

We are a team of experienced professionals with a wide range of international clients, mainly energy companies, financial institutions, and producer governments. Consultancy services include the provision of regular research, interacting with clients and undertaking special studies and reports. Analysing oil products across the barrel, the successful candidate will enhance their already strong numeric and analytical skills and eventually become a regional or subject expert. Working alongside upstream, refining and economic specialists, the successful candidate will have exposure to the complete oil cycle giving the successful driven and motivated candidate an accelerated learning curve and unparalleled exposure to the industry.

The Role and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Play a key role in developing and maintaining Asian focused oil and refined products models, identifying key trends in the refining market, providing in-depth analysis and interpretation of the impacts.
  • Work closely with oil and gas experts in other regional offices to provide strategic and analytical input to both the short-term and long-term global oil outlook.
  • Writing analytical reports (retainer and ad-hoc reports) will be a key part of job scope.
  • Contribute to and/or lead bespoke projects for clients on oil related topics – either in response to specific requests, or as multi-client reports.
  • Maintain regular contact with clients and market participants to gather market information and develop business opportunities.
  • Communicate insights through published notes, presentations, calls, emails and meetings with clients and prospects.
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate or post-graduate qualification in engineering, economics, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 full years of consulting/market analysis experience in the commodities industry. Knowledge of energy and/or oil, refined products and petrochemical markets is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to obtain pertinent information and develop effective models.
  • Ability to do independent research and work with a project team.
  • Excellent numeracy/written skills and comfortable working with large data sets from disparate and often unstructured sources. Strong Microsoft Excel skill is a must.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Fluency in English is essential for this role. Knowledge of other Asian languages is a plus.
