**Responsibilities**:
The Senior Analyst will focus on developing market analysis on Refinery Margins, Refinery Intelligence, Product Balances and analyzing refinery modeling related data/questions As part of the Downstream Solution team responsible for Rystad Energy’s research and analyses of the global Downstream industry covering all its segments.

You will report to SVP, Head of Downstream/Oil Trading and will be key member of Rystad Energy’s Global Downstream Solutions team. You will be working very closely with Global Practice Leader for Oil Market solution in APAC.
- Good technical understanding and expertise in refinery processes/technology and economics side
- Interested in oil trading analysis - able to connect the dots and able to articulate the so what on oil markets based on fundamental data in refining
- Able to produce market notes, engage clients with high degree of awareness of where the client wants to take the discussion towards - balancing showing what we want to show and what they want to see
- Support the Downstream Asset research/benchmarking team at asset level related to crude and products markets and oil refining assets for APAC, with a special focus on China.
- Develop modelling tools for filling the gaps in historical data and forecasting for short
- and long-term outlook
- Ambition to grow as integrated Oil Trading analyst
- Able to travel in region and able to work across time zones
- Oil market analyst with relevant experience at large oil & gas firm, financial institution, governmental agency, and/or consultancy

**Requirements / Skills**
- 5-10 years in the Americas Oil/Petroleum Refining - operating or research consulting or trading firms with fast paced work environment
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or Chemical engineering
- Expertise in Refining/Petrochemical processes and economics
- Desirable to have experience in linear programming tools such as Aspen PIMS
- Good command of spoken and written English and able to demonstrate good writing skills.
- Occasional travels for client visits and industry events, engage clients via presentations, webinars, and face to face sessions.
- Hands on with Excel, Python, Visualization tools (QlikView, Power BI)
- Build dashboards, develop reports and presentations for publication and client engagements
- Contribute to consulting activities related to Downstream
- Contribute to key energy themes - related to Energy Transition and Decarbonization.
