Marine Sales Engineer

JOB SUMMARY:

The Marine Sales Engineer will serve as the key technical and commercial liaison between the company and our distributor in Singapore. This role will focus on expanding the market for our marine diesel engines, providing technical support, and driving sales efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in marine diesel engine systems, a passion for business development, and a proven ability to build strong relationships with key industry stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Distributor Support & Relationship Management:

• Act as the primary technical and sales contact for the marine diesel engine distributor in Singapore, ensuring effective collaboration.
• Provide ongoing product training and technical support to the distributor's sales and service teams.
• Develop strong, long-term relationships with the distributor, fostering loyalty and ensuring customer satisfaction.

2. Sales & Market Expansion:

• Drive sales and market share growth for marine diesel engines and related products in the Singaporean marine sector.
• Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities within the commercial shipping, offshore, and pleasure craft markets.
• Generate leads, prepare proposals, and close sales deals by offering tailored solutions that meet the specific needs of clients.

3. Technical Consultation & Product Promotion:

• Deliver technical consultations to clients regarding the selection, installation, and maintenance of marine diesel engines.
• Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to clients, providing in-depth technical knowledge on engine performance, efficiency, and lifecycle benefits.
• Assist customers in understanding the advantages of marine diesel engines, such as fuel efficiency, emissions reduction, and reliability.

4. Customer Support & After-Sales Service:

• Ensure that clients receive prompt, high-quality after-sales service, including troubleshooting, maintenance recommendations, and spare parts management.
• Support customers in managing warranties and service agreements for marine diesel engines.
• Address any technical queries or concerns from clients, leveraging both internal resources and external suppliers when necessary.

5. Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis:

• Monitor and analyze trends in the marine diesel engine market, including customer requirements, technological advancements, and competitor offerings.
• Prepare regular reports on market conditions, sales forecasts, and customer feedback for senior management.

6. Collaboration with Internal Teams:

• Work closely with the engineering, product management, and marketing teams to ensure the company's products meet market demands.
• Provide feedback from customers and distributors to assist in product development and refining sales strategies.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Education Level:

• Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.

2. Job Experience:

• At least 3-5 years of experience particularly with marine diesel engines or related products.
• Experience working with marine diesel engine distributors or shipyards is highly desirable.

3. Technical Expertise:

• In-depth knowledge of marine diesel engines, including their operation, performance, and maintenance requirements.
• Familiarity with major marine diesel engine manufacturers and technologies.
• Strong understanding of marine industry standards and regulations related to engine emissions, fuel efficiency, and reliability.

4. Sales and Communication Skills:

• Excellent sales and negotiation skills with a focus on building long-term client relationships.
• Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, customer-friendly terms.
• Strong presentation and proposal writing skills.
