Main purpose of the role:

Simmons Adaptive is currently seeking an experienced payments lawyer to support a major international bank based in Singapore or Hong Kong. The successful candidate will advise on legal, regulatory, and contractual matters relating to payments products and services, supporting business growth and innovation in a dynamic, cross-border environment.

 Key duties include:

• Advise on legal and regulatory issues relating to the bank's payments platform, products, and services in Singapore and/or Hong Kong.

• Draft, review, and negotiate agreements and documentation for payments solutions, including customer contracts, partnership agreements, and technology arrangements.

• Monitor and interpret relevant regulatory developments, including those from MAS and HKMA, and provide practical guidance to the business.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to manage legal risks and enable business objectives.

Person specification:

• Commonwealth qualified lawyer with 6+ PQE experience in payments, fintech, or financial services.

• Knowledge of payments regulations and industry practices in Singapore and/or Hong Kong.

• Experience drafting and negotiating commercial and technology agreements.

• Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
