Resident Management:
  1. Operational Assistance:

  2. Assist in all operational aspects of the shelters, including coordination and sending referrals to partner agencies.

  3. Act as a point of contact for immediate operational issues, ensuring seamless service delivery during all shifts.
  4. Monitoring and Evaluation:

  5. Actively monitor and evaluate the well-being of residents, ensuring timely intervention and support, particularly during night shifts when immediate family or external help may not be available.

  6. Promoting Cohesive Living:

  7. Foster a supportive and cohesive living environment, implementing strategies to enhance resident interactions and mitigate conflicts, especially during potentially stressful night hours.

  8. Development Promotion:

  9. Encourage and facilitate personal, social, and educational growth among residents through structured programs and spontaneous supportive interactions.

  10. Supply Management:

  11. Manage grocery shopping and stock maintenance, ensuring dietary needs are met and food supplies are fresh and adequate for health and safety compliance.

  12. Emergency Response and Reporting:

  13. Respond to emergencies with readiness and efficiency. Document and report any incidents, ensuring all necessary repair and maintenance work is flagged and followed up promptly.

  14. Procedural Management:

  15. Oversee and facilitate strict adherence to admission and discharge procedures, maintaining detailed records and ensuring compliance with established guidelines.

  16. Community Guidelines Enforcement:

  17. Monitor and ensure all residents strictly adhere to the shelter's guidelines related to structured programs.

  18. Resource Inventory Management:

  19. Regularly check and update inventory of dormitories and food supplies, ensuring resources are utilized efficiently and waste is minimized.

  20. Flexibility and Mobility:

    • Demonstrate flexibility in work hours and the ability to travel between different shelter locations as required, including covering night shifts and weekend duties.
    • Stay-in Requirement:

    • Be prepared to stay-in overnight as operational needs dictate, ensuring continuous support and presence.

    • Gardening and Maintenance:

    • Undertake basic gardening and general maintenance duties to ensure the shelter's environment is welcoming and therapeutic.

Facilities Management:
  1. Premises Upkeep:

  2. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the facility, with particular attention to communal areas and high-touch surfaces.

  3. Disinfection Protocols:

  4. Implement and oversee thorough disinfection procedures following resident discharges, maintaining a safe and sterile environment.

  5. Facilities Supervision:

  6. Supervise the cleaning and maintenance of all facilities, ensuring a pleasant and functional living space for all residents.

Admin Support:
  1. Administrative Duties:

  2. Manage mail collection, prepare detailed monthly reports, and handle phone inquiries, providing administrative support to ensure smooth operations.

  3. Event Coordination:

  4. Assist in the planning and execution of shelter events, providing refreshments and logistical support to enhance community engagement.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Adaptability: Ready to take on various tasks as needed by the supervisor, adapting to changing priorities and resident needs.
  • As we serve our clients round-the-clock, the role may include weekends, public holidays, and night shifts

Any other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
