Ship Operator cum Procurement Executive

This regional Ship Management Company has an exciting opportunity for a Ship Operator with good experience within Commercial Shipping to join the team. This is an interesting role with strong long-term prospects which will be ideal for someone who can come in and hit the ground running.

Roles & Responsibilities

· Issuing orders including loading and discharge instructions;

· Ensuring that Charterers, and Traders, & all relevant parties are kept fully informed of latest ship schedules and programmes;

· Issuing and releasing of Bills of Lading where applicable and ensuring timely receipt of Bill of Lading data to facilitate commencement of invoicing process;

· Monitor collection of freight and surrender of Bills of Lading consistent with Charter Party terms;

· Preparation of all required shipping documentations, LOIs etc.

· Facilitate & process paperwork, port clearance, immigration & other regulatory requirements for vessels & crew.

· Manage and maintain proper filling records

· Coordinate the transportation of people and goods to and from vessels, & technical repairs of vessels.

· Prepare movement and log sheets.

· Any other ad-hoc duties assigned to facilitate smooth operations of vessels, including some packing & deliveries.

· Assistance in the preparation of laytime calculations, demurrage & other claims.

· Assist in the planning of stowage onboard the managed fleet of General Cargo ships

· Assist in the procurement of deck & engineering supplies for the company's managed fleet, as well as their delivery when vessels call in Singapore ports

· Attending to urgent shipboard issues if/and when required when vessel calls in Singapore ports

· Liasing with shipmanagers, vessel crew, various port officials & parties as/when required in carrying out his/her duties.

About You:

· Previous Experience sailing onboard vessels (Deck/Engine Department) preferable but not essential. This would suit someone looking to move to a shore-based environment

· Ideally from a Commercial Shipping background

· Keen and enthusiastic to grow your career, and most importantly to learn

· Bahasa Indonesia/Melayu language skills preferred but not essential as this role needs to communicate with Bahasa Indonesia/Melayu speaking Seafarers

· Strong Microsoft Words, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint skills.

· Excellent teamwork and strong sense of integrity and professionalism.
