About the company

Our client is an established company with over 20 years of experience who is a market leader within their industry. As part of their plan to invest in technology, they are now hiring an experienced IT Software Manager - Shipping to manage their application team.

About the job

  • Managing the application team. Application Management: Oversee the management and optimization of maritime-related business applications, ensuring they meet company and industry standards.
  • Vendor Management: Evaluation of software and vendors. This includes managing relationships with external software providers and vendors, ensuring application performance and support meet expectations.
  • Project Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams on business application development, deployment, and upgrades.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with key stakeholders to understand their business needs and align the development and use of applications to support strategic goals.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements through the use of technology, automation, and optimized application use.
  • Troubleshooting & Support: Provide support in resolving application issues, managing incidents, and ensuring user satisfaction.
  • Budget & Resource Management: Oversee the budgeting process for application development and maintenance, ensuring resources are allocated effectively.

Skills and experience required

As a successful applicant, you will have at least 5 years of experience in shipping software management. Examples will be maritime shipping software such as softmar, Fleet Management Software, Crew Management System such as compas.

Proven track in managing a team is required for this role.

Exposure to cloud azure will be of added advantage.
