Position Overview

The 3D Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating the FPSO project's 3D model environment to ensure accurate integration of all disciplines, efficient clash management, and consistency of design data. This role serves as the focal point between engineering teams, subcontractors, and project stakeholders, ensuring that the 3D model accurately reflects the FPSO design and supports project execution from FEED through to detailed design and construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain the 3D design model (e.g., AVEVA E3D/PDMS, SmartPlant, or equivalent) for FPSO projects.
  • Coordinate with discipline engineers (piping, structural, electrical, instrumentation, mechanical, process, etc.) to ensure model consistency and integration.
  • Manage 3D model reviews (internal and client) and lead clash detection/resolution sessions.
  • Ensure project standards, specifications, and naming conventions are followed in the model environment.
  • Generate and manage model deliverables such as general arrangement drawings, isometrics, and material reports.
  • Act as focal point for model administration, including access control, user support, and troubleshooting.
  • Organize and facilitate regular model reviews with stakeholders, including highlighting critical clashes or design inconsistencies.
  • Ensure data integrity and proper transfer of model information to downstream deliverables (drawings, MTOs, construction packages).
  • Coordinate with IT/Systems teams on software setup, upgrades, and licensing.
  • Support engineering and project teams in preparing 3D model outputs for client and regulatory submissions.
  • Provide training and guidance to discipline designers and engineers on 3D modeling standards and workflows.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Drafting, or related discipline.
  • Minimum
    5–8 years
    of experience in 3D model coordination in the oil & gas industry, preferably FPSO projects.
  • Proficiency in
    AVEVA E3D/PDMS
    ,
    SmartPlant 3D
    , or equivalent 3D modeling software.
  • Strong understanding of FPSO topsides, hull, marine, piping, and EIT systems.
  • Hands-on experience in clash detection and model review processes.
  • Familiarity with engineering standards, codes, and practices in the offshore industry.
  • Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural project team environment.
