Manager of Environmental Energy Business Department

The main objective of the Environmental Energy Business Department is to assist the General Manager and Acting General Manager in the management of Singapore Branch office, Asia-Oceania Chief Regional Officer (CRO)'s office, and subsidiaries of its business-related activities, as well as to support our Senior Executives in the Environmental Energy Group in our Head Office in Tokyo.
In doing so, you will collaborate deeply with our colleagues in our Head Office in Tokyo, the branch offices in the Asia-Oceania region and other regions, as well as our group companies in Singapore and in the Asia-Oceania region. Building and developing networks with the customers, the local counterparts and government authorities where necessary. You are expected to explore business opportunities, including conventional fuel business such as petroleum trading and marketing, to review and develop next generation fuel supply chain business model to deliver conventional fuel, low carbon fuel, and zero carbon fuel to the users in Singapore and other Asia-Oceania countries, including Japan. The position is expected to design, propose and create new and sustainable businesses for the Company. The roles include but not limited to the followings:
To manage activities of the Petroleum Trading & Marketing team, Low Carbon Fuel Business Development team in the Environmental Energy Business Department.
Based on each business situation of Environmental Energy Group's subsidiaries, group companies in Singapore, and the branch offices in the Asia-Oceania region, assist to define business strategies, reach a consensus with Tokyo HQ and CRO office, and support the activities of those frontline group companies and the branch offices.
Leveraging Singapore's unique political/business environment, support to create new business models which are aligned with the Company's direction and Environmental Energy Group's business strategies.
To gather and analyze information and reports to identify global and local market trends, as well as new destinations and growth opportunities in next generation fuel and its relevant business industries in Singapore and Asia-Oceania region.
Establish strong relationships with existing and prospective business partners, consultants, bankers, etc. in Singapore and Asia-Oceania region for potential business opportunities/advancement and gathering of market intelligence.
Manage good interactions with diverse groups of stakeholders, with the objective of forming possible business partnerships and commercializing projects.
To guide, train, develop and motivate a diverse group of team members and communicating in English & Japanese for effective team management.
Job Requirements
Minimum Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Business Management or equivalent.
Skills, expertise and experiences to research, develop and deploy new business in relation to Energy business, especially for petroleum and bio fuel including the trading and marketing, and the logistics for transport and storage.
Strong Knowledge on investment and project finance practice.
Well-versed on sustainable solutions, ESG and SDGs.
High proficiency in Japanese and English (listening, speaking and writing) to communicate effectively through phone calls, video conference, emails and/or meetings with Tokyo HQ, Mitsubishi Corporation's group companies and/or local and/or Japanese staff.
Skills to prepare effective presentation materials both in Japanese and English, in order to communicate effectively with customers and/or for internal approval.
Cross cultural efficacy to facilitate effective communication with Tokyo HQ, subsidiaries and department staff in Singapore and Asia-Oceania region.
More than 5 years' experience in abovementioned requirements.
