Job Description: Senior GIS Engineer (COTS/ESRI)

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer specializing in GIS with ESRI expertise to join our agile development team. The role involves implementing and maintaining geospatial solutions using ESRI tools and FME, while providing leadership in spatial services.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and customize GIS applications on the ArcGIS Enterprise platform.
  • Implement FME workflows for spatial data integration and transformation.
  • Build and maintain REST APIs for geospatial analysis and services.
  • Optimize GIS queries to improve system performance.
  • Provide guidance on geospatial architecture and technical decisions.
  • Conduct code reviews, document solutions, and resolve complex GIS issues.
  • Engage in cross-functional planning and technical discussions.
  • Support skill development in GIS for the team.

Required Experience & Skills:

  • 8+ years in GIS development and spatial data analysis.
  • Expertise in ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise suite: ArcGIS Server, Portal, Enterprise SDK, ArcGIS Pro.
  • Extensive experience with FME Desktop and Server.
  • Skilled in developing and consuming REST APIs.
  • Knowledge of spatial databases such as Oracle Spatial or PostGIS.
  • Basic Python scripting for automation.
  • Understanding of web mapping technologies and OGC standards.
  • Agile development experience.

Technical Competencies:

  • ESRI Products: ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS API for JavaScript.
  • Programming: Python, JavaScript.
  • Databases: Oracle Spatial, PostGIS, Oracle, MySQL, MSSQL Server.
  • Web Services: REST, SOAP.
  • Version Control: GitLab or equivalent.
  • Spatial Analysis & Data Transformation tools.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Singapore Government GIS projects and SGTS is a plus
  • Knowledge of OneMap APIs and government spatial security policies are bonus
  • Exposure to cloud-based GIS and big data processing.
  • ESRI Technical Certifications; 3D GIS experience.
