COMPANY DESCRIPTION
Grocery Logistics Singapore (GLS) a wholly owned subsidiary of FairPrice Group Supply Chain, is a well-established logistics player in the Fast Moving Consumers Goods (FMCG) segment, incorporated since January 1993. Other than being the key logistics provider for NTUC FairPrice and its subsidiaries, we had serviced the Dairy Farm Group, Royal Ahold Group (since exited from Singapore Markets) and many small supermarket chains since our establishment.
DESIGNATION : Engineer, Industrial Engineering
RESPONSIBILITIES
You will be a key member in the Industrial Engineering team that is responsible for overseeing the entire supply chain process and ensuring that it is optimized to maximise efficiency and cost-effectiveness. This role will support the team in analysing and optimising warehouse automated systems to improve warehouse operations efficiency and capacity, as well as handle related continuous improvement initiatives.
**Responsibilities**
- Analyse, improve the process and systems within the supply chain, in a way that fosters collaboration, communication and continuous improvement to optimize the entire supply chain process.
- To articulate practical recommendations for business requirements and demonstrating an ability to address pain points & issues.
- Engage and partner with key stakeholders and operators on automation projects to ensure successful implementations by understanding stakeholders' requirements and vendor capabilities.
- Utilise industrial engineering principles to develop and implement best practices for warehouse operations optimisation.
- Conduct time and motion studies to identify bottlenecks inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement in the warehouse processes.
- Utilise data analysis tools and software to generate reports, analyse trends, and make data-driven recommendations for process optimisation.
- Provide training and support to operations on new processes, equipment and technologies to ensure successful implementation
- Any other adhoc duties and projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering/ Automation or any other related field.
- Proven hands-on experience in industrial engineering, preferably in warehouse or distribution center setting
- At least 3 years of relevant experience
- Prior hands-on experience in modelling/simulation tool is desirable.
- Experience with time studies, methods/work study and/or other performance analysis methodologies.
- Good organizational, problem-solving, analytical mindset and skills, and able to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with stakeholders from different hierarchy levels with the ability to drive achievement of objectives.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in warehouse environments.
OTHER INFORMATION
- Work location: 5 Joo Koon Circle (The position might be required to travel locally to other distribution centres / warehouses for business needs)
- Working hours: Monday - Friday, 8:15am - 5:35pm (will move to rotating shift cycles in future)
