We seek to hire a Legal Counsel – Alibaba Cloud who will be a key member of the growing international legal and compliance team supporting Alibaba Cloud's rapid expansion around the world. Alibaba Cloud now has data centers in Singapore, US, UK, Germany, UAE (Dubai), Saudi Arabia, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, China (both mainland China and Hong Kong). The successful candidate will be based in Singapore with occasional business travels.
Primary Responsibilities- Advise on legal aspects of Alibaba Cloud's international expansion, focusing on compliance and leading compliance projects, as well as supporting commercial contracts and negotiations for the APAC region.
- Provide legal advice to business teams on new business models, strategies, operations, and marketing activities.
- Negotiate, draft, and review contracts and commercial agreements.
- Research local laws and regulations and coordinate with outside counsel.
- Legal qualification from Indonesia and/or Singapore, with solid experience in cross-border legal affairs.
- 3-7 years of post-qualification experience at a law firm and/or corporation.
- Experience in the technology sector or a background in technology education is a plus.
- Proficiency in English and Indonesian, with strong legal drafting and negotiation skills in both languages.
- Sincere interest in technology, innovation, and business.
- Highly motivated, able to work independently and under pressure.
- High integrity and a collaborative spirit.
