Senior Consultant, Data Governance

Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation of a data governance framework for risk management as part of 1LoD (First Line of Defense) in alignment with enterprise-wide data governance policies (e.g., BCBS 239).
- Define key data items based on regulatory reporting importance and requirements.
- Develop and maintain data flow diagrams and a comprehensive data dictionary mapping upstream to downstream systems.
- Identify and document data lineage across source systems and reporting elements.
- Standardize definitions of data elements and contribute to data dictionary development.
- Conduct interviews and collaborate with stakeholders including reporting teams, business users, IT, and external vendors.
- Perform root cause analysis of data quality issues (e.g., missing values, granularity mismatches) and propose/implement corrective actions.
- Recommend controls for data validation, reconciliation, and exception handling to ensure data quality.
- Propose a roadmap to embed and operationalize data flow and data dictionary governance.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related fields.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in data governance or data management, preferably within banking or financial services.
- Strong domain knowledge in risk management and regulatory reporting.
- Proven ability to perform data analysis and understand data lineage across systems.
- Excellent logical thinking and structured problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills to engage with cross-functional teams (users, IT, vendors).
- Familiarity with MAS regulatory reporting standards and associated data structures is a plus.
- Experience in financial data governance initiatives or enterprise data management projects is a plus.
- Working knowledge of data management tools like Collibra or Alteryx (not necessarily as a developer) is a plus.
