**Director - FCL Procurement - Freight Forwarding - APAC**

Due to DP World’s expansion and growth, we are seeking for a high calibre Director for FCL Procurement in Oceanfreight with experience in trade management in GCC region.

In this role, the Director will oversee the development of trade volumes and gross profit for both inbound and outbound activities across the involved countries. This role involved defining and driving global trade strategies in alignment with regional and country objectives. The position is responsible for establishing and implementing the global and regional carrier strategy within the trade, including managing and nurturing relationships with core carriers and regional niche carriers as required.

Additionally, the Director is a key member of the regional trade management team, contributing to the alignment and strategic direction of FCL product development and growth. This is achieved through close collaboration with the growth and marketing & sales teams.

**Responsibilities**

**Strategy & Financial Oversight**
- Oversee the P&L for FCL operations, ensuring profitability at the gross profit level
- Develop and implement trade strategies to drive growth in country-specific trade lanes
- Achieve budgeted business growth by setting and aligning goals with carriers, countries, and partner regions
- Regularly gather and share market insights with Trade Management, the OFR network, and Marketing & Sales teams

**Carrier Relationship Management**
- Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, particularly Strategic Partner Carriers, while aligning with the global carrier strategy
- Negotiate rates, free times, credit terms, and other conditions, finalizing Service Contracts and Agreements in compliance with corporate guidelines
- Establish a foundational framework (pricing, space, collaboration) for FCL operations within the trade
- Monitor carrier performance weekly and monthly using available tools to meet targets based on the latest estimates

**Team Leadership & Development**
- Lead, mentor, and expand the trade team, fostering the development of future leaders within the trade.

**Allocation & Yield Optimization**
- Manage allocation processes, including:

- Setting weekly allocations with core carriers.
- Maintaining allocations in current and future systems.
- Balancing supply (allocations) and demand (customer forecasts and actual bookings).
- Ensuring compliance with allocation-related processes across countries.
- Establish volume steering guidelines tailored to specific countries.
- Monitor booked and shipped volumes, taking corrective actions (e.g., carrier shifting) to:

- Maximize space utilization.
- Meet carrier targets and contract MQCs.
- Optimize gross profit at customer, shipment, and trade lane levels.
- Enhance carrier incentives

**Volume & Pricing Strategy**
- Oversee Port-to-Port pricing
- Collaborate with the Growth Team to align strategies for SME growth and large RFQs across the network
- Leverage market expertise to secure and retain customers.
- Advise M&S teams on OFR buying conditions (rates, space, equipment availability, free time, etc.)
- Coordinate Focus Trade Lanes with the M&S team and overseas Trade Management
- Facilitate customer business implementation by ensuring carrier cooperation and understanding.
- Engage with key customers to strengthen and grow relationships

**Qualifications & Experience**
- Bachelor Degree in Logistics & Supply Chain/Business or equivalent
- At least 15 years of relevant experience in Oceanfreight procurement across Transpacific regions (Americas)
- Have existing relationship with carriers, shippers etc
- Comfortable to travel regionally (10-15%) if required
