Senior Product Manager, Payments

In this role you will be responsible for managing Wego’s Payments, Risk & Fintech products across all the markets in which Wego operates. We have the ambition to be the best in class travel super app in MENA & globally where we have millions of daily active users.

You will determine our product strategy in this area and lead the cross functional teams that are building these solutions.

You will identify and understand customer pain points, determine objectives, and propose solutions to products that delight them. You will align and work with internal stakeholders and track performance against your set objectives.

You will work with technology, product, marketing & commercial teams to operationalise your products.

This is a critical and strategic role given the demand we are seeing as part of the “revenge travel” in the new normal of the travel industry - definitely exciting times.

**Responsibilities**
- **Product Strategy, Prioritization, Decision-Making & Execution**
- Collaborate closely with engineering, UX, analytics, the business stakeholders and external partners (e.g. 3rd party payment providers) to define, build and launch products/platform features
- Active management of product backlog, including prioritization, writing and managing epics, stories and acceptance criteria with common agile methods (SCRUM, Kanban) and meeting structures (e.g. daily, sprint meetings, retrospectives, demos)
- Critically analyse products in various markets, competition, opportunities we can capitalise on
- Ensuring project documents are complete, current and available for staff and leadership review. Able to see challenges before they arise, create plans to manage dependencies and alleviate the risks, and pitch in to execute those plans as needed
- Provide support to the Director of Payments for the RFP’s to select vendors, payment gateways, payment solution providers, acquirers, alternative payment providers, FX providers, risk management
- Develop payments & fintech products to drive the growth of acceptance rates, lower payment costs while fighting fraudulent transactions
- Product experimentation - Utilise scientific approach in conceptualising the development of existing or new products. Report and communicate on data analysis, experimentation, and outline on the product that drives changes and improvements to user experience
- Develop new financial products to address the needs of our customers, and capitalise on the opportunity (e.g. BNPL, micro finance, flex tickets, wallets, etc.)
- **Opportunity Discovery**
- Identify Wego’s payments’ various customer personas and their pain points/delighters
- Identify the sizing & quality of opportunities
- Perform research on how we can develop our products to address the identified problems & delighters
- Align the identified opportunities with the business’ vision & objectives
- “Roll up sleeves attitude” with ability to analyze funnel conversion, A/B test performance, and performance of product features in production. Willingness to explore data to find actionable insights and make product recommendations through funnels, cohort analyses, long-term trends, user segmentation, regression models, and more.
- Strong grasp of commercial concepts, familiarity with e-commerce & m-commerce leading & lagging metrics, unit economics

**Deliverables**
- **Product vision** (included mock-ups, demos, or walkthrough) which will define the idea of what a product should be, why it has to be created, and for whom;
- **Research analysis reports **and **user personas** including the analysis of product customers, description of the target consumers, and defined the product fit hypotheses;
- **Product strategy** and **roadmaps **with outline of the development processes, milestones, and KPIs;
- **Execution metrics dashboards** such as users engagement rate, retention rate etc.

**INDICATIVE QUALIFICATIONS**

Proven track record of building & scaling payments products

Start-up experience

Min. 5+ years of experience in Product Management

Experience in development and design

Data/Evidence/Logic-Drive/Analytical capabilities
