The Signature Research Programme in Neuroscience and Behavioural Disorders (NBD) is focused on understanding the structure and function of the nervous system, and the neural mechanisms underlying human neurological, psychiatric and ophthalmological disorders.
The group uses a multidisciplinary approach at the interface between neuroscience (neuroanatomy, electrophysiology, optogenetics, organotypic cultures), genetics (genomics, snRNAseq), human stem cell and tissue biology (human iPSC-derived neurons transplanted in the mouse brain) and high-resolution optical imaging (structural and functional multiphoton microscopy).
We are looking for highly motivated, persistent and committed researchers with a strong interest in the wiring and dysfunction of human cortical circuits, and in how we can increase and harness their regenerative potential to impact the treatment of both neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric brain disorders.
