- Driving all Legal & Secretariat matters of the Groups global businesses
- Reviewing and negotiating all agreements and timely advising the Board / Management
- Ensuring that the Groups activities are compliant with all relevant procedures, laws and other governmental / regulatory requirements and adopt best practices
- Budgeting for Groups legal and corporate secretariat portfolio for integration with Groups budget
- Managing outsourcing to external counsels on cost effective basis
- Identifying and managing legal risks management and training across the Groups operations and establishing and enhancing legal compliance programs
- Managing all contentious /dispute resolution matters, whether through litigation, mediation or arbitration in the best interest of the Group
- Providing corporate secretariat support to the Group, including all necessary preparations, attendance and minute taking for Board and Management meetings
- Reviewing all IP related matters including filing, protection, renewals and defence of all IP related matters; maintaining and upkeeping of the Companys IP register
- Responding to whistleblowing matters which may include investigating, forming of inquiry panels in line with the Groups policies.
- Degree in Law from a recognized University with at least 8 years Post-Qualified Experience (PQE)
- Preferably with experience as In-house legal counsel in manufacturing industry and/or with earlier career in major law firms in Singapore
- Excellent communication skills preferably with proficiency in Mandarin as a substantial part of the Groups business is in China
- Ability to setup and build legal capabilities and resources from scratch to support the business growth
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
