Established as the Singapore Freight Forwarders Association in 1973, the association was renamed Singapore Logistics Association (SLA) in 1999 to reflect the growth and wide-ranging activities of its members.

Today, SLA has close to 700 members, predominantly logistics enterprises, and stays anchored in its mission to support and sustain a vibrant and thriving ecosystem for the logistics sector through active industry participation and collaborations with both local and international logistics partners. Offering a wide range of targeted programmes and initiatives to help enterprises be future ready, SLA also constantly reviews and explores forward-looking initiatives to help logistics companies implement business transformation improvements to emerge stronger and ahead of competition.

To nurture a pipeline of global and future ready logistics talents for the industry, The Logistics Academy, a wholly owned subsidiary training arm of SLA was incorporated in 2010 to provide human capital and skills development courses to empower and deepen the skills of the workforce for the logistics sector.

DESIGNATION : Senior Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES
**1. Oversight and Support of Training Operations**
- Oversee and raise the profile of The Logistics Academy (TLA), the training arm of SLA, in alignment with the Association's mission and strategic goals.
- Contribute to the development of long-term plans for new training initiatives and special projects, in accordance with Council directives.
- Drive and facilitate the effective implementation of relevant industry initiatives as directed by the SLA Council.

**2. Governance & Committee Management**
- Manage and coordinate meetings of the TLA Board of Directors, Academic Board, and Examination Board.
- Support and manage meetings of the Human Development Committee, Training Advisory, and other ad-hoc working groups as required.

**3. Training Administration & Compliance**
- Ensure training administration is executed in full compliance with ISO 9001:2015 procedures and the Private Education Act (PE Act).
- Ensure that appropriate pedagogical methods, materials, and tools are employed by lecturers to meet industry and regulatory standards.
- Assist in the appraisal and performance evaluation of lecturers and trainers.

**4. Programme Management & Scheduling**
- Plan, schedule, and manage training programmes within available resources, including lecturers, facilities, and equipment.

**5. Budget & Financial Oversight**
- Manage and monitor the TLA budget to ensure financial sustainability and accountability.
- Support reporting and documentation required for audits and internal reviews.

**6. Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships**
- Manage training collaborations and partnerships with external organisations, institutions, and industry stakeholders.
- Represent SLA in engagements related to training and human capital development.

**7. Grants & Government-Funded Programmes**
- Manage the administration of government-funded programmes assigned to SLA such a Global Ready Talent facilitation.

**8. Talent Development**
- Identify, develop, and support training needs within the department.
- Motivate and guide staff and trainers to ensure delivery excellence and continuous improvement.

**9. General Responsibilities**
- Implement and maintain compliance with the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.
- Perform any other related duties as may be assigned from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS
- A recognized Bachelor's degree in Education, Business Administration, Human Resource Development, or a related field.
- A Postgraduate Diploma in Education/Training and Development or equivalent would be an advantage.

OTHER INFORMATION
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in training administration, adult education, programme coordination, or a related role.
- Experience in working with Training Providers or Continuing Education and Training (CET) Centres, preferably in the logistics or trade sector.
- Prior exposure to managing government-funded programmes (e.g., SSG, EnterpriseSG) is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Private Education Act (PE Act) and Committee for Private Education (CPE) requirements is preferred.
- Sound knowledge of training and adult education principles, instructional design, and pedagogical tools.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems or similar process-based frameworks.
