Structural & Sales Engineer

**1.Job Responsibilities**

**1)General**
- Sales promotions and providing technical service of Nippon Steel’s high-end prodtcts in construction market and off-shore market as chief manager in Singapore, Malaysia and other ASEAN countries.
- Capture needs of market and establish the strategy of the expansion for Nippon Steel’s high-end products in ASEAN by collaborating with Marketing Team in Singapore, Head Quarter and Works.
- Make the Road-Map and Action Plan for yearly, and next mid-term (3-5 years)
- Manage and educate staff in office to improve their technical skills & sales performance

**2)Technical Marketing, Establishment of technical circumstances**
- Capture and research the technical trends of steel structures in Singapore, Malaysia and other ASEAN countries.
- Finding out opportunities to promote Nippon Steel’s high-end products / solutions from current / future technical trends / perspectives (e.g. Carbon Neutral, etc)
- Make and Management of Strategy of promoting Nippon Steel’s high-end material/method considering the recent/future technical trends in Singapore, Malaysia and other ASEAN countries
- Plan & proceed development, co-research with Government Organizations / Universities in order to evaluate our products / solutions.

(Finding out potential theme, planning structural test / analysis, evaluate performance / possibilities, publish documents, etc.)
- Having discussion / negotiation with Government Organizations, Technical Authorizations, Universities about new/high technologies, products and solutions.
- Having technical presentations / discussions in Public Academic Organization, and submit technical journal paper collaborated with HQ, and research laboratory in Japan.

**3)Actual sales promotions and technical services of high-end structural steel**
- Penetration of new/high-end products/solutions in Singapore, Malaysia, other ASEAN countries
- Finding potential projects and clients in Singapore, Malaysia, other ASEAN countries
- Co-works collaborated with local counterparts for projects

**2.Job Duties**

・Create the idea/solutions to solve our marketing/technical issue in the market (Singapore, Malaysia,

other ASEAN countries), lead the construction team and get the achievement as chief structural engineer

・Find the potential projects (search the projects information)

・Development on potential clients (Visiting and Having meeting, Explanation of our new/high-end

material/method and any advantages.

・Periodical meeting/technical update, and Establish/Keep the good relationship with potential clients

・Technical support for potential clients, especially building construction (consultant, main-contractor, fabricator, etc.) and off-shore construction (owner, contractor, fabricator, etc.)

・Make the technical documents to explain our solutions/proposal in detail

・Technical Judgement for apply/proposal as most suitable solutions by using Nippon Steel’s

material/solution in actual projects

・Make the technical experiment, analysis, field test plan, and proceed them as chief engineer

・Gather the technical data from actual construction site, and feedback to HQ, and research center(JPN)

・Have the periodical meeting with HQ/Research Centre(JPN), and ASEAN-HQ(Bangkok), by leading the explanation in ASEAN activity/plan

・Support subordinate (structural engineer)

・Transmit and share of your information with documents/report at periodical meeting

**3.Skills and Qualifications**

・Work experience of minimum 7 years in the field of structural engineering.

・Having enough knowledge, experience and good understanding of construction and structural engineering.

・Having the knowledge of design code in Singapore, Malaysia, other ASEAN countries and Japan

・It is required to have the disaster prevention engineering knowledge, such as seismic, wind, fire, blast-safety, etc., and have experience to develop the new solutions.

・It is required to have the advanced global analysis, member / connection design, FEA, fatigue design, corrosion design skills.

・Having enough knowledge, experience and good understanding of steel manufacturing procedure, performance and fracture prevention methods.

・Having enough knowledge, experience and good understanding of steel fabrication method/performance of fabricated steel.

・Having enough technical knowledge, experience of the actual construction site issue in order to provide technical solutions/judgements, especially for steel structures

・Familiar with Singapore, Malaysia, and other ASEAN countries market situation, and have connection in actual players

・Can promote not only technical contents but also marketing/sales contents

・Japanese speaking/writing skill is preferred in order to communicate mill workers in Japan

・Having the mind of cost reduction, market price, and our company profit

・Can report periodically and effectively (Report, Inform/Share, and Consult as team works)
