Network Engineering is a global organization that is part of the Foundational Infrastructure business unit and is based in multiple locations around the world. We engineer technologies, products and solutions across the entire Goldman Sachs network. This includes networks hosting critical market data, exchange connectivity and e-commerce services, cloud connectivity, the global core backbone, the design of the physical network supporting campus based users, interconnectivity to regional offices. We are also involved in the development of software solutions to support all aspects of network automation. The team ensures that knowledge, best practices and expertise are shared between regions promoting teamwork and collaboration.

Network Engineering is seeking an experienced engineer with excellent technical, analytical and communication skills.

**RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS**

**Responsibilities**:

- End-to-end manage Proof of Concept efforts for the following technology spaces (hardware and software for both on-premise and cloud): Firewalls, Proxy Servers, Load Balancers, Content Delivery Network (CDN) platforms, Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) tools, Data Leakage Prevention tools, Routers, Switches, Matrix Switches, Intrusion Detection Products, Sandbox/Detonation tool, Honeypots and Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) tools.
- Advanced, 3rd tier troubleshooting techniques and approaches to solve the most complex networking and security issues.
- Lifecycle vendor management, including engineering efforts leading to Request for Enhancement (RFE) submissions.
- Work on contract negotiations and multi-year pricing and support agreements.
- Engineer automation techniques to improve work flow and achieve operational maturity.
- Work closely with our Technology Risk, Production Engineering and Network and Security Operations teams.
- Work as part of a global team and adhere to off-hours meeting scheduling.
- Construct and socialize operational run-books for our Network and Security Operations teams to ensure immediate and effected troubleshooting.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Strong, hands on experience with the following:

- Firewall platforms including Juniper, Palo Alto and Juniper;
- IaaS, PaaS and SaaS deployments and environments, including AWS, Azure, GCP and Oracle Cloud;
- OSPF and BGP implementation and troubleshooting;
- Proxy technologies including Broadcom, Forcepoint, Palo Alto, Cisco, Netscope and Zscaler;
- Load Balancing/HA technologies including Citrix Netscaler and VMWare/AVI located on-prem and within IaaS clouds
- Public Internet and Enterprise WAN visibility technologies including ThousandEyes (Cisco) and Extra Hop
- Cisco Routers & Switches. Nexus, ASR product lines, Cisco IOS, NX-OS etc.;
- Sandbox technologies including Zscaler, FireEye, Last Line, Cisco, Palo Alto and Joe Sandbox;
- Intrusion Prevention technologies including Snort, Cisco, Palo Alto and Zscaler;
- Data Leakage Prevention technologies including Vontu, Zscaler, Extra Hop, Palo Alto and Check Point;
- Malware feed ingestion and processing;
- Highly self-motivated and the ability to work independently as well as in a global team environment.
- Good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
