As an energy sector expert with extensive hands-on experience providing business leadership and managing teams of engineers, consultants and advisors, the GM Asia role is accountable for all activities in the Asia business involving the growth and ongoing operations of a professional technical services business in Asia with emphasis on meeting PSC’s vision and visibly demonstrating our value set.
The role covers five main areas of responsibility:
1. Business strategy
2. Business development, client engagement and sales
3. Consulting services
4. People management; and
5. Business unit management
**_
Business Strategy_**
- Use market research as well as gained experience and insights to develop 3 year strategies to grow and develop the Asia business in support of PSC global and APAC regional strategic objectives
- Work with other regional GMs and the APAC MD to identify strategic growth opportunities and plans to assess and address them
- Work with Sales and Marketing to acquire market research and develop Go To Market plans for any new services or entry to new countries
**_ Business development and sales_**
- Achieve revenue and sales targets;
- Identify and develop opportunities within PSC’s existing and potential client base;
- Oversee methodologies and hours estimates for service proposals;
- Develop relationships within existing and prospective PSC client organizations that can benefit from the PSC service offerings;
- Support the pursuit of global opportunities that require PSC expertise;
- Represent PSC in industry forums, working groups and conferences;
- Identify and quantify market trends that require PSC capability;
- Develop service offerings and relevant marketing materials that reflect the specific and evolving needs of the market; and
- Maintain CRM entries for opportunities.
**_ Consulting services_**
- Engage with executives and other key influencers within client organizations to ensure PSC services are meeting client expectations and needs;
- Provide stewardship to the delivery of complex engineering consulting advice requiring multiple consultants and/or groups from within the PSC Group;
- Manage performance of business delivery portfolio; and
- Support and enable revenue growth in other PSC BUs and regions by providing support as and when requested.
**_ People management_**
- Actively live and demonstrate PSC values and develop an engaged and motivated team that live and practice trust, healthy conflict, commitment, accountability and attention to results
- Achieve team performance targets, including team growth and team engagement;
- Lead by example and conduct quarterly reviews with direct reports
- Provide ongoing technical and/or professional guidance to individual team members as appropriate;
- Define recruitment needs for ongoing workload, and assist with growing an aligned team;
- Help direct reports resolve employment related questions and concerns; and
- Arrange, prepare and, where appropriate, deliver specialist industry training and coaching to consultants in line with individual and company objectives.
**_ Business unit management_**
- Contribute to preparation of annual business development and operational team budget for Asia;
- Prepare weekly report of team activities;
- Prepare monthly report of operational performance;
- Contribute to weekly sales and operations reports;
- Contribute to annual APAC business planning exercises; and
- Participate and contribute to PSC Group initiatives.
Key Accountabilities / Essential Job Outcomes
The GM Asia will:
- Actively live and demonstrate PSC values and develop an engaged and motivated team that live and practice trust, healthy conflict, commitment, accountability and attention to results
- Strategise, plan, develop and deliver sustainable revenue growth from a diverse group of clients in a way that is consistent with PSC’s strategic objectives;
- Develop PSC’s skills, capabilities and service offerings aligned with market requirements through internal development, recruitment and market engagement;
- Act as the Face of PSC in the SE Asia sub-region;
- Lead and manage the performance of a team of consultants based across multiple PSC sites; and
- Engage with other PSC BUs and regions to develop regional markets and capabilities.
