Can you tell the latest tiger palm sugar bubble tea trend from last year’s rainbow trend, or suss out the hidden hawker food gems no one has heard of? Crafting social media images/captions are also part of the job as a wholistic digital media creator. Photos have to be of great quality to be published, and all formatting and grammar should be up-to-par. The work we do is neither a corporate 9-5 job, nor a childcare facility; applicants need to be passionate about food, motivated, adventurous, have self-discipline and be serious in developing their professional work skills and ethics.

If you need adult supervision to function, work in a bank or something instead. The pay isn’t amazing, but the gastronomical experiences you can get while on the job are worth way more. If you have no prior writing/photojournalism experience, you might be more suited to start as an intern, then work your way to conversion.

**What kind of qualifications do I need?**:
A recognized Diploma/ Bachelor’s Degree in Literature/ Mass Communications or equivalent

Good photographic eye

Creativity to think of eye-catching headlines

Ability to meet tight deadlines in digital media space

You’re a foodie - Good knowledge and exposure to local food culture and heritage

Perfect grammar and spelling

Familiarity with web publications

1-2 years of proven work experience as a publication writer or similar role

Experience doing research using multiple sources

Excellent writing and editing skills in English

**Job responsibilities**:
Contribute F&B story ideas, finding new viral content angles

Attending adhoc food events

Crafting effective social media captions and article titles

Keeping track of article view performance and suggestions to improve

Adhering to SEO rules of writing content

Fast turnaround of news-related articles, including weekends if news drops then

Ensuring writing and photography are professionally executed

Maintaining a constant flow of organic and client articles

Providing guidance to new writers/interns
