Senior Outfitting Engineer

**Purpose**:
To independently prepare and deliver the Outfitting engineering deliverables required for the assigned projecteffectively and efficiently according to specified technical requirements and timelines. With some guidancefrom the Lead Engineer, to provide measures to manage and resolve technical issues related to thedeliverables. With sufficient years of experience, the incumbent may be assigned to be the Lead OutfittingEngineer of projects..

**Responsibilities**:

- Understands the specific technical specifications and requirements of the assignedproject, Industry Standards, Company’s Standards, Classification Society andRegulatory requirements.
- Plans, manages and prepares Outfitting scope of work which includes Marine &Topsides Steel Outfitting arrangements, Accommodation arrangements, HVACspecifications, Corrosion protection, Fire Control Plan and Material handlingarrangements.
- Develops project outfitting standard detail drawings based on COMPANYcorporateoutfitting standard detail drawings and modify where necessary to meet the projectrequirements.
- Plans and develops complex Outfitting arrangements (such as Vessel GeneralArrangement, Accommodation layout, Fire Control Plan, Life Saving Equipmentarrangement, Helideck layout, etc.)
- Manages timely issuance of COMPANY deliverables despite experiencing delay ofinformation transmission from equipment supplier.
- Develops complex Outfitting equipment technical specifications (calculations,drawings, data sheets, etc.) specific to the assigned project and validates them withthe Lead Engineer before incorporating them into the requisition (RFQ) document.
- Evaluates technical bids received for complex Outfitting equipment from suppliersand performs technical bid evaluation process to ensure the selected supplier meetsthe technical and delivery requirements as stipulated in the technical specifications
- Provides technical assessment to the Buyer who will follow up in the tenderevaluation, price negotiation and award process.
- Conducts kick-off meeting with the selected equipment supplier to clarify issues andfinalize the scope of the equipment supply for supplier to execute their work anddeliverables.
- Reviews Fabrication yards and suppliers’ drawings and documents to ensure theOutfitting items are engineered and designed for construction reliability and practicality.
- Attends Factory Acceptance Tests for major Outfitting equipment to ensure theequipment functions as per specifications. Where necessary, liaises with the supplierto rectify outstanding technical issues and ensure the completed equipment complywith the specifications and delivered on time.
- Works with Lead Engineer in closure of Outfitting related HAZID / HAZOP items ofthe assigned project.
- Participates in engineering meetings, project progress reviews, and 3D model reviewsand tackles interface / implementation /execution issues, where necessary to ensurethat the project proceeds timely and smoothly.
- Works with Lead Engineer in closure of Outfitting related comments fromClassification Society and Client of the assigned project. Directly corresponds anddeals with Classification Society Surveyor and Client if necessary.
- Provides technical support and advice to Construction / Commissioning work on siteand off site. Proposes measures / solutions to rectify the issues /problems whennecessary.
- Collaborates with bidding team in the preparation of work content assessment andestimate to ensure compliance with the defined bidding strategy and that acompetitive bid will be ready in time for submission of the company offer.
- Responsible for capturing lessons learned in his / her functional area, entering inMIMS, and closing out project related MIMS actions
- Complies with the COMPANY HSSEQ Code of Conduct as described in the HSSEQPolicies, the 14 HSEQ Standards, and the HSEQ Procedures to protect people and theenvironment at all times. Has a duty of care to ensure that all personnel work in amanner that is not harmful to their own health and safety and the health and safety ofothers.
- Complies with COMPANY Group’s Code of Business Conduct & Ethics and Policies toensure business activities and decisions conform to the laws and regulations anddemonstrates high standard of ethical behaviour.
- Provides review and evaluation on technical proposal from sub contractors andvendors in consultation with Lead Engineer. Has no authority and accountability inmonetary aspects and staff resource matters.
- Reports to Outfitting Group Lead for Coporate matters and Lead Engineer for projectrelated matters. May be assigned to mentor Engineer(s). Coordinates with engineersfrom other disciplines (Structure, Piping, Mechanical and Electrical) on technicalmatters of the assigned project.
