IFF is seeking a highly motivated and results driven individual to join our Scent Technology & Innovation (ST&I) Singapore division as **Analytical Scientist, Scent**.

**Your Focus**

As Analytical Scientist, you will carry out analytical experiments in Singapore, Global Centre of Excellence for Powder Detergent and Bar Soap, both on known and unknown fragrance compositions. The role partners with key technical and creative partners (perfumers, evaluators) to deliver insight into fragrance compositions and how they are delivered. In addition, you will help develop foundational data as input for analytical tools and databases.

**Job Requirements**:
**How you will contribute**
- Translate requests of technical management into sensible experiments
- Reconstruct unknown fragrances based on analytical, olfaction and supplementary data.
- Carry out analyses on known fragrances in and delivered by consumer products.
- Co-develop analytical methods for known fragrance and write protocols.
- Equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Organize lab supplies.
- Support the generation foundational data for analytical and fragrance reconstruction tools and databases.

**What you will need to be successful**
- Bachelor or Master in analytical chemistry.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in GC/MS analysis, Fragrance/Flavor industry or Fast Moving Consumer Goods environment, or forensic science is preferred.
- Either good equipment maintenance/troubleshooting skills, or data handling skills. Willingness to learn the other skill.
- Perfume ingredient knowledge (and of their chemical behavior) is preferred.
- Good planning skills.
- Proactive; can anticipate issues and generate practical solutions.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work effectively under time constraints.
- Customer oriented.
- Drive for results.
- Analytical thinking; data analysis and interpretation skills.
- Learning ability.
- Proficient in English (Verbal and Written).
