- Research and understand market leaders of various products/commodities including new products, product trend, specifications and cost.
- Know the market leaders in automation component industry (e.g., linear & rotary motion, power transmission, Pneumatic & Vacuum components, thermal components, etc) and market suppliers (including new ones)
- Follow up automation component industry latest technology development.
- Monitoring supply/demand, market and trend (e.g., material price changes, availability and lead times, changes in suppliers) and interpreting the impact of these trends on company strategies
- Identify manufacturers and products and provide sourcing and technical assistance (technical specifications, etc) to Designers & Engineers
- Recommend and provide options and solutions to designers and engineers via alternate or second sourcing to ensure resiliency and continuity of supply

**Secondary Responsibilities**:

- Evaluate and score suppliers based on Global Procurement guidelines and directives.
- Classify suppliers based on Global Procurement engagement model and the level of engagement and services provided. Proactively work with selected suppliers to achieve a higher level of engagement.
- To conduct Tender Processes and Processing of Purchase Order in accordance to Corporate Governance Regulations.
- To carry out price analysis and conduct purchase / contract negotiation with vendors to ensure materials / services are acquired at bestowal cost of ownership.
- Generation of Purchase Order and process change orders.
- Liaise with respective Division/s and other functional personnel.
- Provide regular feedback on material or services status to requestors.
- Develop Strong Relationships with suppliers and internal Functional Groups.
- Support Organizational Goals and Objectives.
- Supporting the organization’s need for a diverse and globally competitive supply base.
- Manage the Procurement Process and the Supply Base Efficiently and Effectively.

**Requirement**:

- Degree/Diploma in Electronics/Electrical/ Mechanical/Business Management Engineering.
- 5 years purchasing experience preferred.
- Good working knowledge of financial and legal terms affecting purchasing is required.
- Excellent communicate and negotiation skills.
- Has the ability to engage suppliers all levels to negotiate effectively.
- Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
- A good team player, a person with integrity, mature and self-motivated.
- A developed and strong foundation of function skills and knowledge of relevant purchasing and sourcing concepts.
