**Job Description - Local Supplier Buyer
Reporting to the Commercial Director, the Local Supplier Buyer is responsible for the forecasting, ordering and commercial management for all product procured from local suppliers and relevant local F&B suppliers to maximise availability, maximise profitable sales, and minimise shrinkage.

**Job Scope
**Overview**
- The accurate control of stock holding at the warehouse to prescribed stock day targets.
- The commercial performance of local supplier SKUs and relevant F&B raw materials and consumables.
- Availability of product at warehouse to target level.
- The constant monitoring of stock on hand in the warehouse and in store, and associated actions to maximise profitable sales and minimise markdown and shrinkage.
- The passing of timely and accurate information to the Commercial Director, and other business functions relating to buying activities, supply chain, product issues etc.
- Become the communication focal point for matters pertaining to local and F&B suppliers - supply chain, availability, pricing / product changes etc.
- Building strong relationships with other business functions - retail operations, Ecom, marketing and finance.
- Ad hoc assignments as assigned by the Commercial Director.

**F&B**
- The timely communication of F&B requirement for overseas product.
- Become the link between the retail and F&B business.
- Support on new outlet development.

**Supply Chain**
- The development and continuous review of the daily/weekly/monthly buying schedule, warehouse processes, cross dock operation, and other buying processes for local and F&B suppliers.
- Building and nurturing relationships with suppliers and local 3rd party logistics providers.
- Communicating purchase orders in a timely and clear fashion to all required local and F&B suppliers.
- Taking the lead on communications with suppliers and 3rd party logistics providers relating to day to day operations.

**Pricing and margin management**
- The close monitoring of gross margins and Net GPM on a daily, weekly, monthly basis to ensure targets are met.
- Agreeing all retail selling prices for new product launches with Commercial Director prior to launch to achieve prescribed gross margin targets.
- Reviewing margins for anomalies in average product costs, incorrect receiving, supplier cost adjustment, and taking / requesting necessary mitigating actions.
- Conducting comparative pricing studies quarterly, or whenever there is a business requirement.

**Reporting**
- Producing and analysing management information to facilitate good business decisions both in retail and F&B.

**Systems**
- Become conversant in all required systems.
