**MISSION**:
The Assistant librarian, under the supervision of the Director of the Elementary and the Librarian, assists the Librarian in his or her daily tasks and contributes to the supervision of students during their time at the Library (“BCD : Bibliothèque Centre Documentaire”).

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Participating in the operation of the Library (with or without the presence of the Librarian)
- Sort and shelve books according to their categorization
- Welcoming and advising users (students, teachers, adults) on the use of documentary materials and tools
- Assisting in the literature search
- Recording and tracking loans, borrowings (registrations, issues, returns) and documents
- Taking care of the management of the books (tidying, repairing, referencing, etc...)
- Participating in the renewal of document collections (inventory, stock management, orders, etc.)
- Facilitating pedagogical sessions in collaboration or with the agreement of the Librarian
- Updating, disseminating and communicating on news and current events on the Library interface
- Communicate with teachers, families and suppliers
- Other ad hoc activities requested by the librarian

**SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**:

- Fluent in English required (C1 minimum)
- Interest and curiosity in English and French children's literature
- Experience in education or in the area of information and documentation is an added value
- Experience in the school environment is desirable
- Knowledge of library management software desired (PMB) and good computer skills
- Good communication skill
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Rigour, respect confidentiality
- Adaptability

**TERMS AND CONDITIONS**:

- Full time position of 42 hours
- Remuneration will be based on salary scale in IFS
- All school holidays minus one administrative week
