Job Position

The Library Officer is a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of day-to-day library activities.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Shelving and maintaining the collection, providing customer service, and ensuring library facilities meet operational needs.
  • Assist with daily operations, procedures, and routines of the library, carry out daily shelving and regular shelf tidy of the collection.
  • Provide customer service, handle inquiries, process membership registrations, and follow up on customer service issues.
  • Ensure library facilities are well-maintained to meet operational needs, assist in library operations, compile reports, manage crises, and provide administrative support.
  • Prepare and distribute overdue notices/fines, liaise with IT Support and/or Vendor on technical issues faced, and assist in the order, receipt, and processing payment of library materials.
  • Assist in annual stock-taking, maintain the orderliness of the library, and assist in the management of student librarians by assigning duties.
  • Assist school community with using the library catalogue, e-resources, and databases, and assist in basic troubleshooting of library computers, printers, Wi-Fi, to help users.
Key Requirements
  • Hold a GCE 'O' Level or Diploma certificate, prior working experience in libraries is an added advantage.
  • Able to multitask with good time management skills, work independently and as a team, and adaptability to rapidly changing environments and services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office and library software, and possess a keen interest in continuous learning and development.
