Roles & Responsibilities

RMAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Head Librarian, the Part-time Librarian will handle daily library operations and services, manage collections, and assist with library events and marketing content.

1. Library Operations & Services

· Handle daily library operations and services using a French library system

· Manage library accounts, loans, returns and fines

· Maintain cleanliness and order in the library; inspect and repair damaged books

· Recommend French reading materials tailored to age, language proficiency and interest

· Assist users with the online resources

2. Collection Management

· Label, cover and organise library collections

· Maintain and update catalogue entries

· Assist with acquisitions, inventory checks and decommissioning of resources

3. Library Events

· Assist in planning and executing library events (e.g. storytelling, book clubs, author meet-and-greet, book sales, etc.)

· Conduct library visits for students and external visitors

· Create content for ad-hoc library activities (e.g. craft sessions, treasure hunt, festive decoration)

4. Marketing & Communications

· Update content for the online library portal

· Manage online audio resources

· Create bilingual communication materials for library services and events

REQUIREMENTS:

· Excellent command of French (native/minimum B1) and English (written and spoken)

· Pleasant disposition and good interpersonal skills

· Proven ability to work in a multicultural and dynamic environment

· Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks independently

· Good knowledge of French literature publications and trends

· Experience working with children and/or FLE learners is desirable but not essential

CONDITIONS & COMPENSATION:

· 32 hours per week, from Wed to Saturday.

· Salary range for this role is between SGD 2,400 - 2,600

· Compensation time-off for extra working hours but no extra hours paid

· Free French or Mandarin classes + all AF Membership benefits.
