Reuters is seeking an experienced editorial leader to drive coverage of commodities and energy across Asia, the home of many of the world’s top consumers and producers of raw materials.

This is an exciting time to take the helm in one of the fastest growing and most important regions for global C&E coverage on a team with a hard-earned reputation as the go-to news service for the sector. As China emerges from strict lockdowns and sanctions disrupt energy and grains exports from top producer Russia, trade flows into the region’s largest economies are changing.

This is an opportunity for an experienced journalist and editor to show their strength as a lead writer setting the agenda for coverage and producing stories that cater to the needs of both screen clients and a wider audience hungry to read about the broad implications of the news we break.

**About the Role**

As our Asia C&E Editor, you will:

- Set the agenda for Asia C&E coverage for the regional team, in line with global editorial goals.
- Drive a team of experienced correspondents to break exclusive news and publish the most insightful stories on the markets and industries they cover.
- Ensure depth and quality in everything we publish: from market reports through to investigative work.
- Edit to the highest level before sending stories to the publishing desk.
- Adapt quickly to changes in markets and policy to ensure we deliver outstanding coverage on the most important regional C&E stories.
- Drive development and career progression across the team.
- Identify quickly changes in markets and consumption and adapt teams to cover them ahead of the competition.

**About You**

As our Asia C&E Editor you will likely have:

- At least five years' experience editing and reporting on a real-time financial news file.
- At least two years' experience managing a team of journalists.
- Strong understanding of commodity and energy markets.
- Proven track record of framing, pitching and editing both breaking news and initiative stories, spotting trends and delivering agenda-setting big-picture stories ahead of the competition.
- Ability to explain complex market issues to a wide business audience.
- Strong data handling and analysis skills
- Impeccable news judgment and ability to write with speed, clarity, accuracy and flair.
- Excellent inter-personal skills and experience working with large global teams.
