**The Role**:Flutterwave is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as the Head, Commercial Risk Management. The selected individual will enable successful onboarding of our enterprise and large merchants, and manage risks on the portfolio proactively

**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- Develop and execute strategies to enable the onboarding and success of enterprise and large merchants on our platform
- Proactively identify, assess, and manage risks within the portfolio, ensuring the integrity and security of financial transactions
- Drive strategic initiatives to align enterprise merchant enablement and risk management with broader organizational goals and objectives
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Legal, Compliance, and Technology, to ensure seamless onboarding and risk mitigation processes
- Oversee negotiations with enterprise merchants, ensuring favorable terms, and alignment with risk management strategies
- Lead and inspire high-performing teams focused on enterprise merchant enablement and risk management, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
- Serve as a key liaison between the enterprise merchant enablement and risk management function and executive leadership, providing regular updates on key performance indicators and strategic initiatives
- Ensure personal information of customers, employees, and other individuals Flutterwave conducts business with is processed and protected in line with applicable data privacy policies, privacy laws, and global best practices.

**Required competency and skillset to be a waver**:

- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, risk management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
- Minimum 15 years’ experience developing and implementing strategies for enterprise merchant onboarding and risk management in a high-volume transaction environment
- Minimum 5 years of people leadership experience, with demonstrated ability to mentor and develop team members
- Adept at merchant underwriting
- Experience working with African merchants and/or in Africa highly preferred
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, risk management frameworks, and industry best practices
- Demonstrated ability to proactively identify and manage risks within a financial technology portfolio
- Proficient in negotiating contracts with enterprise merchants, ensuring favorable terms while aligning with risk management strategies
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
