As the Head of Risk, you’ll be a key leadership team member, representing the risk agenda at the highest level.

At a high level, Risk at this company is responsible for managing customer approvals and credit to approve as many customers as possible while controlling RiskRisk, optimising revenue, and keeping losses at a predetermined, manageable level.

You will develop approval rules and processes that allow many potential customers to be approved while keeping portfolio-level fraud, late payments, and delinquencies within a target range.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Partnering with providers of KYC, credit, and fraud risk assessment services to onboard new data sources for approvals.
- In collaboration with Product and Engineering, developing automation that allows for rapid and scalable approvals processes.
- Developing a unique base of knowledge of credit behaviour that allows cost-effective growth and establishes a durable competitive advantage.
- Ensuring compliance with all rules and regulations around the provision of credit in the markets. At this stage, that is Australia and Singapore, and will soon expand to New Zealand and other South East Asian markets.
- Working alongside the Customer Operations team to continually share knowledge and refine risk approvals and collections processes.

**To be successful in this role, you will need**:

- Strong numeracy skills and ability to interrogate and interpret data, including knowledge of data sources and best practices for assessing credit and fraud risk.
- A deep understanding of fraud tooling and best practices around standard payment systems (e.g., credit cards).
- Good knowledge of the regulatory environment pertaining to credit in Australia and preferably one international market.
- Adequate collections and payment operations knowledge to collaborate effectively with the Collections function.
- Proven experience in leading complex cross-functional programs of work.
