Singapore Westpac Institutional Banking Full time

We have an excellent career development opportunity exists in the Singapore branch of Westpac Banking Corporation. The credit analyst role is specifically within the Customer Insights & Analytics (“CIA”), of CIB Asia with a focus on South East Asia.

The role covers a set of customers with exposure to mainly in the Natural Resources, Agri segments and including some exposure to FIs. These customers typically lie within several parts of the industry value chain. The portfolio of customers is typically “moderately credit intensive” due to lending structures across various product disciplines. As an Analyst / Senior Analyst, the role also has a focus on origination of customers.

Working collaboratively with relationship managers, originators, product experts and analyst peers both locally and globally, the role involves credit assessment of potential customers, including meeting with company executives and advisors, providing input into deal structuring and periodic credit reviews of existing customers. The role may also involve opportunities to support CIB’s wider Asian and global client portfolio. As such this role offers a unique blend of analytical and entrepreneurial challenges.

**Accountabilities**:

- Continuously improving and demonstrating an understanding of customers in a defined portfolio to support the achievement of revenue targets
- Providing effective deal support through accurate and thorough research and analysis
- Your main focus will be on:

- Analysis (risk profiling, financial analysis and related credit submission activities for counterparties including industry/sector analysis and financial modelling to facilitate effective risk identification and mitigation) - completing within agreed timeframes.
- Loan structuring
- Timely credit monitoring (undertaking dynamic risk management of defined customer portfolio incorporating accurate and timely monitoring of triggers convenants, completion of periodic reviews and continuous risk monitoring).

**Position Requirements**:

- Minimum 3 to 8 years credit analysis experience, including experience in credit analysis of South East Asian corporates and Trading Companies. Experience in commodities in both natural resources and agri sectors would be highly advantageous.
- Product knowledge across Financial Markets, Debt Markets, Structured Commodities and Transactional Banking and Working Capital Services products is desirable.
- A relevant tertiary or professional qualification (Finance or Accounting).
- Proficiency in cash flow modelling skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to working in team environment.
- Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy.
- Commercial awareness/business acumen.
