Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy & Leadership:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy focused on Data Centre Solutions, including the integration of power generators, gensets, and diesel engines for data centre clients.
- Lead and manage the sales team to achieve revenue and growth targets, focusing on both new business development and nurturing long-term client relationships.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including data centre operators, facility managers, and engineering teams, to understand their needs and offer tailored solutions.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Identify and target potential clients in the data centre sector, including enterprises, cloud providers, and telecom companies, seeking reliable and scalable power solutions.
- Conduct regular business development activities, including meetings, presentations, and site visits, to engage with key decision-makers.
- Manage client expectations, negotiate contracts, and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the sales cycle and post-sales process.
- Sales Execution & Performance:
- Drive end-to-end sales for data centre power solutions, including diesel generators, gensets, UPS systems, and other power generation equipment, ensuring client needs are met and exceeded.
- Develop customized proposals and quotations, ensuring the technical and commercial aspects of the solution are well understood by clients.
- Monitor sales progress, provide forecasts, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior management.
- Product & Market Expertise:
- Leverage your knowledge of power generation systems, particularly diesel engines, gensets, and power backup solutions, to provide clients with informed recommendations and effective solutions.
- Stay updated on market trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies in both the data centre and power generation industries.
- Work closely with the engineering and technical teams to ensure seamless integration of power solutions into data centre designs.
- Collaboration with Internal Teams:
- Work closely with the marketing team to develop sales materials, presentations, and product collateral targeted at data centre clients.
- Collaborate with the technical teams to ensure accurate technical specifications, solution designs, and delivery timelines.
- Assist the project management team in ensuring the smooth handover of sales opportunities and in supporting the implementation of power systems.
- Negotiation & Closing:
- Lead negotiations with prospective clients, ensuring competitive pricing and favorable terms, while maintaining profitability for the business.
- Close sales opportunities effectively, ensuring the execution of contracts and timely initiation of the delivery process.
- Provide continuous feedback to the management team on market trends, competitive landscape, and client requirements.
- Team Development & Reporting:
- Mentor and guide junior sales team members, ensuring they meet their sales targets and develop their skills.
- Prepare regular sales reports, including forecasts, pipeline updates, and performance metrics, and present them to senior leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 5-7 years of sales experience, with at least 3 years in Data Centre Sales or related industries.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth within the data centre or power generation sectors.
- Experience in managing complex sales cycles, including direct negotiations with senior stakeholders.
- Bilingual in Mandarin and English preferred so as to liase with our stakeholders in China.
- In-depth knowledge of power generation equipment (diesel generators, gensets) and data centre infrastructure needs.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong negotiation and closing skills, with a focus on building long-term client relationships.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, and project management.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple sales opportunities effectively.
