We're recruiting Sous Chef - Western Cuisine to join our dynamic team Based in Singapore, you will report to the Group General Manager.
Essential Functions:
- Plan, direct, and supervise the food preparation and cooking activities.
- Prepare and cook western cuisine for serving according to the menu
- Keep kitchen area, processing equipment, and cooking utensils clean and sanitized at all time
- Process all food according to company’s regulatory control
- Ensure safe operations of all equipment, and report any faulty equipment to superior immediately
- Comply with hygiene and safety regulations (HSE) set by the Company
- Determine production schedules and staff requirements necessary to ensure timely delivery of catering services.
- Estimate amounts and costs of required supplies, such as food and ingredients.
- Collaborate with other personnel to plan and develop recipes and menus, taking into account such factors as seasonal availability of ingredients and the likely number of customers.
- Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to staff.
- Record production and operational data on specified forms.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
**Responsibilities**:
- Ensure efficient operations and adherence to SOPs
- Oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of the kitchen and kitchen equipment
- Lead and ensure staff members are cross-trained for deployment across multiple brands to support daily operations
- Develop and supervise plans to ensure efficient use of resources and minimise wastages
- Create Western Menus selections
Job Requirements:
- Experience in Western cuisine, including Canapé, Salad and Western Dishes
- Able to learn and adapt swiftly
- Able to work individually and as well as efficiently in a team
- Able to communicate with internal and external customers
- Able to present a positive and professional attitude at all time
- Able to start work immediately / within a short notice period
- Able to work in fast paced working environment
- Five years experience in cooking Western Cuisine and managing a culinary team in a catering operation.
- Equipped with excellent sense of taste and creativity in food presentation.
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
- Working hours - 7am to 5.30pm
- Must be able to work on weekends and public holiday
