**What the role is**
- The Family and Child Development policy directorate develops policies and programmes which deliver strong and resilient families, a good start for every child, and an inclusive society for women and persons with disabilities.
Your role will focus on Women’s Development and Early Childhood.
The Women’s Development branch (WD is the national focal point on gender matters in Singapore. A key mandate for WD is to strengthen the eco-system for women’s development and represent Singapore on women’s matters internationally.
The Early Childhood branch focuses on giving every child a good in life. Early childhood is a key priority area for the Government, and the sector is undergoing significant transformation to realise the strategic plan to provide access to affordable and quality preschools for Singaporeans, and to support Singaporeans’ marriage and parenthood aspirations.
**What you will be working on**
- As a member of the Family and Child Development policy directorate, you will join a dynamic close-knit team. You will work in close collaboration with various women’s organisations, public sector agencies and industry partners to engage stakeholders to develop and review policies for women’s development in Singapore, lead the implementation of the White Paper on Singapore Women’s Development, monitor implementation of Singapore’s obligations with regard to the United Nations Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), and be involved in other international relations matters pertaining to women’s development. You will work closely with various entities including the Council for Board Diversity to increase the representation of women on boards. You will also have the opportunity to develop and review policies to drive improvements across the early childhood sector, by coming up with innovative and practical policy solutions in close collaboration with the Early Childhood Development Agency and industry partners.

- Excellent written and communication skills to present views clearly and persuasively
- Good team-player with well-rounded interpersonal skills to work across teams and engage diverse stakeholders across the public and private sectors
