Piping Construction Superintendent

**Overall Job Purpose**
- Responsible for supervising the construction activities and delivering the assigned construction work scope by meeting the specifications stipulated, timeline, and HSEQ requirements.
- May be assigned to oversee and manage the assigned system/zone in the construction scope which consists of several inter-related discipline in the FPSO construction plan OR oversee a topsides fabrication yard, with guidance.
- In addition to above, responsible for establishment of new standard of best practice on piping construction management focusing on flange management, constructability studies and leading the piping construction related improvements till final handing over.

**Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for assigned scope of construction activities by planning, managing and coordinating construction execution strategy and day to day activities. Plan and implement the constructability and progress on either Marine Naval Architecture or Topsides Modules in Structure/Piping matters and mechanical equipment installation sequences.
- Schedule & manage cost to ensure construction & installation progress on schedule and within prescribed budget.
- Organize, direct and supervise contractors to ensure construction & installation procedure strictly follow drawing & relevant regulation requirement and equipment vendor’s specification. Setup contracts with manning agents and organize mobilization of personnel for various operating assets. Assist with recruitment of crew and start of FPSO operations (if required)
- Define the responsibilities and management structure of the assigned scope. especially setting targets and guiding discipline supervisors. Coach the team members.
- Monitor the efficiency of the planned maintenance system and management of spare part inventories aboard various assets.
- Monitor and liaise with Shore base for status and planning of Class/ Statutory surveys and CSM items.
- Provide technical support and assistance for FPSO operations and equipment to projects. Provide inputs for HAZOPS and HAZIDS designs for various projects.
- Assist with any other marine related activities as assigned by management including ISM/ISPS. Work with projects and operations for a smooth take over/hand over of the FPSO operations. Inspect vessels for pre purchase inspection and report to the company. Liaise and responsible for preparations and final sail away of FPSO from Shipyard to Site.
- Comply and implement MODEC HSEQ Policy and requirements to the construction activities within level of authority. Monitor reports presented by the regulatory authorities, Safety Auditors and ensure implementation of corrective action as required. Ensure that units are manned in accordance with applicable regulations and that the crew is suitably trained and experienced to STCW / OPITO requirements.
- Liaise with class / regulatory agencies to keep abreast of rules / regulations changes and to communicate them to concerned personnel. Review procedures for Cargo offloading and associated marine systems and ensure adherence to various HSE regulations. Prepare and ensure the vessel’s certification and sea worthiness for FPSO sail outs.
- Take initiatives to investigate current work process of flange management method and establish a new standard by involving all concerned parties such as engineering, QAQC and commissioning team.
- Take initiatives for the improvements on the piping construction methodology and establish the department standards/ procedures.
- Perform competency mapping on current piping supt/supv and develop training program to address the gap

**Requirements
- Degree in Engineering with minimum 10 years’ experience
- Diploma in Engineering with minimum 12 years of experience in onshore/offshore Oil & Gas controlling construction of multidiscipline work like structure, piping, mechanical and E&I. Well versed with good construction practices and work methods
- Technical Knowledge on the operations of an FPSO and its production requirements
- Knowledge of technicalities of construction requirements and standards at the Construction Yard.
- Experience in lead teams comprising members of diverse culture, race and nationalities from different vendors and fabricators
- Experience in construction of onshore plant, such as oil and gas industry, petrochemical plant.
- Experience in construction project of major oil companies.
