[What the role is]

DEPUTY DIRECTOR, STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS & MEDIA RELATIONS

[What you will be working on]

As a Deputy Director, Strategic Communications and Media Relations, you will lead teams responsible for developing media communications strategies and plans for LTA’s initiatives and policies to effectively communicate and policies and initiatives through the media to the public. You will need to oversee the execution of media plans and programmes to effectively communicate and profile LTA’s projects, policies and initiatives. You will also oversee the development of effective response strategies that explains LTA’s position in response to issues in the media as well as providing advice and support to LTA departments by providing communications guidance in issue management. You will be supervising the Public Transport team and oversee the assignment of work to ensure projects are carried out effectively and efficiently. You will be required to develop and manage crisis communications processes to enhance LTA’s operational readiness and resilience in managing crises and unforeseen incidents as well developing positive working relationship with media and other relevant influencers.

[What we are looking for]
- Tertiary qualification in Mass Communications, Journalism, or related field.
- At least 10 years’ experience of journalism or public relations experience in a large and dynamic organisation with relevant experience in media relations
- Strategic thinker with strong communication, writing and analytical skills
- Strong leadership ability
- Strong understanding and knowledge of media dynamics and trends
- Meticulous and thrive in a dynamic and fast paced environment
- Ability to multitask and adapt quickly to developing situations
