Ts&d Technician

**Responsibilities / Duties**:

- Works as part of a team in a laboratory supporting Scientists in developing, screening and commercializing new products and process.
- Perform basic mathematical calculation from basic formulation provided by scientist and convert to bath formulation, and sample cutting, followed by coating on substrates required, generate accurate performance data to support claims, documents using internal reporting process
- Manages and then safely executes laboratory work requests, maintaining and running relevant laboratory apparatus and testing equipment and documenting data.
- Acts responsible for calibration, safe operation, and routine maintenance of simple and moderately complex instruments or machinery, and troubleshoots faulty equipment effects repairs or initiates repair processes as appropriate.
- Maintains inventories of consumable materials, chemicals, and supplies related to activities by anticipating usage rates, order lead times, and ordering/purchasing procedures impacting the accuracy of own work, (Manage laboratory quote request, vendor code request, purchase requisition / purchase order),
- maintain inventory samples (chemical / non-chemical), Sample preparation and packaging and to arrange shipment
- Promptly and effectively communicates issues to Technology Leader or lead scientists in order to enable or accelerate problem resolution.
- Actively participate in work group team meetings to address safety, process improvement, problem solving, and other work group, department, and functional topics.
- Ensure 5S laboratory cleanliness, ensure compliance to chemical storage / handling / waste disposal,
- Be a Lab Safety representative, ensure lab safety procedure is in place and execute routine safety check and auditing.
- ~80% of lab work (Solvents and Chemical handling involved)

**Education and desired qualifications**:

- Diploma in Science / Chemistry / Polymer Science / Chemical Engineering or any other related discipline
- Atleast 2 years of working experience in chemical Lab (Dow will provide on-job training), Experience in Pressure sensitive industry or Electronics industry will be an advantage but not mandatory as training will be provided
- Experience of working on FTIR, Instron tester / adhesion test, DSC, TGA will be advantageous
- Good command of English (both spoken and written).
- Basic Microsoft Office knowledge (Words, Excel, Presentation, Outlook). Other computer programs like SAP would be added advantage
- High safety ethics, Able to work independently with self motivation
- Open to routine / repetitive laboratory testing work task
- Good planning, time, management, good judgement in prioritization, execution of work
