Technical Infrastructure Regional Designer

We are looking for a passionate, collaborative, and high-energy individual to help build the physical infrastructure that powers Microsoft’s online services.
In this role you will become an integral part of Microsoft’s Cloud Operations + Innovation team, the powerhouse behind our cloud services. In this pivotal role you'll spearhead the expansion of Microsoft’s Azure and AI infrastructure in the Asia Pacific region, collaborating with a global team of experts across diverse disciplines to strategize, design, and implement our Azure and AI infrastructure growth. Your expertise will be central to launching, expanding, and evolving Azure regions to meet our customers' needs while embodying Microsoft’s mission to empower every individual and organization on the planet to achieve more.
You will join a hands-on team distributed across Asia Pacific, reporting to the APAC Head of Region Design & Technology and partnering with our global teams based in the Americas and Europe. In this role you will become a custodian of the foundational strategic region designs that underlie Microsoft’s Azure and AI infrastructure investments, ensuring they are accurate and aligned to our business strategy, design principles and best practices.

**Responsibilities**:
In this role you will lead the creation and optimization of region designs for new and existing Azure and AI regions, ensuring alignment with Microsoft’s design principles, technological advancements and partnering engineering teams.
Success will be enabled by your ability to forge strong partnerships with multiple groups across diverse teams, including engineering, finance, land, lease, energy, fiber and network planning, project management and customer facing teams. Your work will ensure holistic, data-driven region designs that meet customer, engineering and financial requirements for the immediate and long term. You will identify opportunities, manage and mitigate risks, and support our teams to accelerate the quality delivery of Cloud and AI infrastructure and capacity throughout APAC.
**Qualifications**:
**Required Qualifications**
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with 5/6+ years of experience in engineering, infrastructure, data analysis, product development, OR equivalent experience.
- 2+ years’ experience in cross-functional program management, especially in a strategy, planning, and decision-making environment.
- 2+ years’ experience in data analysis for decision making.
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Experience in building, planning and/or operating cloud-specific infrastructure, including datacenter and network architecture
- Customer facing experience such as business development, engineering support or product management
- Strong corporate navigation skills and ability to work effectively in a global, matrix environment
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
