**Principal Duties of Resident Technical Officer**
You shall carry out your duties in accordance with, but not necessarily limited to the details below:

- Act as a site supervisor appointed by the Qualified Person (QP) in accordance with the Building Control Act
- To assist the Resident Engineers in carrying out supervision works on site and also assist in supervising & coordination with other Resident Technical Officers at site
- Conduct quality control of all civil, structural, and geotechnical works at site
- Keep and maintain site record on progress of works, instructions given to Contractors, materials delivered to site, daily activities and weather conditions at site and any other significant information
- Maintain a record of inspection and approval for all site related works including but not limited to concreting, defective structural works, piles, pile load tests, concrete cube tests, tests on steel reinforcements and pre-stressing steel, pre-stressing works, welding works, a record of inspection and approval at each of the following stages of the building works: excavation, installation, construction and removal stage of the building works, a record of instrumentation and monitoring reports, mill certificates and test results for structural steel sections and a record of all other tests of or in connection with the building works.
- Maintain a copy of the approved structural plans including all amendments thereto
- Maintain a copy of progress report
- Supervise and keep records of day civil and structure related works.
- Attend site/coordination meetings as directed
- Carry out site supervision and inspection of works including any off-site structure related manufacturing works as instructed by the Engineer and Architect so as to ensure that works are constructed to the required quality, accuracy and standards
- Monitor progress of the works on site and at any off-site structure related manufacturing facilitates and report delays immediately
- Provide Standing Supervision as directed by the Engineer in compliance with the relevant Building Regulations.
- Maintain proper and updated daily records of all works done, including record of tests, inspections, status of work, safety, site records, material and equipment on site, labour, dayworks, provisional quantities etc
- Check Contractor’s setting out and report any deviations to the Engineer and Architect
- Verify reports and claims submitted by Contractors
- Record all variations as instructed or approved by Engineer and Architect
- Attend to Contractor’s queries and coordinate works of Contractor and direct Contractors at site as necessary
- Inspect and take over completed works
- To deputize for the Resident Engineer in his absence as directed
- Check shopdrawings, drawings and documents and report discrepancies
- Report on site safety, security and housekeeping
- Check compliances for health and safety enforcements, monitor and report on progress at site, highlight delays and carry out off-site inspections
- Evaluate Contractor’s construction sequence, Earth Control Measures, protection works, site and public safety etc
- Check that washing facilities for all vehicles entering and leaving are adequate to clean the vehicles so that it does not litter the roads document best practices and non-compliances identified during inspections and ensure closure by the Contractor.
