Global Legal plays an important role in protecting the Group’s reputation by helping to future-proof the organisation through robust legal risk and issue advisory. Responsible for providing comprehensive legal advice to senior management and all global businesses and functions, the team offers a diverse range of legal skills, jurisdictional experience and practice specialisms across all countries and territories in which our businesses operate.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a **Senior Legal Counsel.**

**Principal Responsibilities**
- Leading and managing resources within Digital Legal Team for the Asia Pacific Region (ex. Hong Kong SAR) (‘ASP’)
- Accountable lawyer for providing legal advice within Wealth and Personal Banking (‘WPB’) on legal issues arising out of their digital initiatives in ASP
- Supporting the ASP WPB business and working with other second line of defence functions to identify and manage the legal risks arising out of digital initiatives including setting relevant policies and procedures to ensure that legal risks relating to digital issues are managed appropriately
- Providing legal support and assistance across ASP and Globally on WPB digital initiatives in conjunction with other members of Legal
- Promoting cross-business line best practice and provision of thought and risk leadership on legal issues relating to current and emerging digital topics through knowledge sharing and collaboration within legal and the business
- Advising Senior Management in Legal and the Business on non-standard legal and reputational risks associated with digital initiatives in ASP
- Evaluating and responding to changes in legal and regulatory requirements as they arise

Requirements

**Requirements**:

- Qualified lawyer with at least 6 years of relevant post qualification experience
- Experienced and confident practitioner
- Up-to-date knowledge of developments in own industry sector
- Able to handle a diverse range of issues
- Self-starter, independent with good organizational skills
- Communication and inter-personal skills
