**The Legal & Policy Team is Snap’s dedicated in-house law firm, policy consultant, advocate, thought partner, and all-around advisor. This team helps Snap do the right thing the right way, make better decisions, understand and manage risks, and creatively navigate challenges, both external and internal. We partner with Snap team members on a wide array of matters, including privacy, product, IP, commercial transactions, corporate governance, employment, acquisitions, litigation, and policy, and social impact. **We’re looking for a Head of Public Policy, East Asia, to join Snap Inc. As a member of the Public Policy team, you will be responsible for the public policy and government relations work across the East Asia region. Working from our Singapore office, you will develop and implement public policy strategy for Singapore, China, South Korea, Japan and Indonesia. Several of these markets are key growth markets for Snap and our relationships with the governments, regulators and other important partners are of the utmost importance. Ensuring that Snap’s voice is heard and considered in policy-making circles will be a top priority.**

**What you’ll do**:

- **Serve as the main day-to-day public policy representative of Snap Inc in the East Asian markets. Establish and deepen existing relationships with relevant government officials, NGOs, trade associations, non-governmental organizations, and other influential partners.**
- **Collaborate closely with Legal and Business teams to analyze legislative initiatives, advise on risks and opportunities, and develop company policy positions and messaging for use across the region.**
- **Work closely with the Head of Public Policy APAC, the Senior Director of Public Policy International, the VP of Global Public Policy, local sales leadership, and on occasion, the senior executive organization.**
- **Partner with the Communications team to help them appropriately respond to media inquiries, by providing the correct policy narrative that best represents Snap Inc.**
- **Be the first to act and respond to the appropriate public policy inquiries.**
- **Partner with consultants as necessary to assist Snap in the East Asian markets.**

**Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**:

- **A proven ability for shaping, and working with, government officials, NGOs, coalitions and other partner groups**
- **Good policy understanding and, ideally, existing relationships within government and the wider stakeholder community in the region**
- **Excellent communication and advocacy skills and sound political judgment**
- **Forward thinking and proactive ability on legislative, regulatory and public policy issues**
- **Ability to work with Snap business to identify pertinent issues and orient the public policy team to meet priorities**
- **Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of external groups and individuals, including those who may be opponents or critics**
- **Articulate, thoughtful and strong decision-making skills**
- **Ability to work independently/ self-starter in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.**

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- **Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in relevant field**
- **8+ years relevant experience**
- **Strong experience of working in East Asia**

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- **Post-graduate degree in relevant field**
