**Role Description Summary
**Primary Responsibilities / Key Result Areas**
- Support regional/segment Solutions Engineering team to ensure technical solutions are presented clearly and address commercial considerations
- Prioritize and assign workload in accordance with commercial commitments
- Respond within challenging guidelines to Request for Proposals/Information (RFP/RFI) and associated tenders
- Support the Cloud team on designing the solutions based on MEO
- Get acquainted with all possible Cloud solutions that can be offered by SES to customers
- Producing at least one whitepapers and one customer Case study on Cloud over satellite
- Represent Solutions Engineering team at customer meetings where required
- Support optimized technical service solutions and prepare technical proposals in support of sales requests with a detailed understanding of the customer’s service requirements, business environment and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) drivers
- Support engineering analysis guidance to determine how new and existing services can be optimized
- Challenge legacy processes/solutions/procedures based on assimilated data and present alternate efficient options
- Present customer presentations on service solutions, systems design and standard products
- Provide training to customers both internal and external on SES Networks services and products
- Support operational trials and demonstrations, enhancing the customers knowledge of SES products

**Competencies**
- Knowledge of satellite transmission analysis and solution engineering. Knowledge of satellite design, Broadcasting technologies, VSAT networks, network architecture, access schemes, data networking
- Knowledge of IP networking, MEF, access routing, BGP/MPLS, IP Peering and networking technologies as well as international Carrier services
- Ability to assist Sales in creating winning technical proposals. Good presentation techniques and effective sales proposal skills. Ability to work effectively in structured or virtual teams
- Build and maintain relationships with customers guided by the capture team, to retain and grow revenues and margins. Ability to gain a clear understanding of the customers’ business and requirements
- Knowledge and understanding of the market and developments in the customer base. Specific trends or shifts in the market need to be monitored, tracked, analyzed and reported to management or other parts of the organization
- Understand the variances within the region or segment, and as such the differences in market settings, customers’ expectations & requirements to be able to determine the different necessary strategies

**Qualification & Experience**
- Degree in Electrical Engineering/Communications/Aerospace/Computer Science
- Knowledge of GEO and MEO services
- Theoretical experience with antenna design and optimization
- Knowledge of satellite transmission analysis and optimization
- Knowledge of satellite access technologies and earth station components
- Knowledge of the design and architecture of Enterprise and Telecommunications Networks, including Mobile Backhaul; access networks implementation and operation including troubleshooting faults and service difficulties
- Knowledge and experience in IP based networks and services
- Regional and segment market experience and business cultural awareness
- Knowledge of English is essential. Additional regional languages desirable
